Today, we are pleased to send out a series of upgraded mining electric locomotives. These units started as 7 ton trolley wire electric locomotives with basic resistor-based speed control mechanisms. Following a major overhaul, they have been transformed into 8 ton battery electric locomotives, now powered by advanced variable frequency drive (VFD) systems. Additionally, air brakes have been installed to ensure enhanced braking capabilities. This upgrade not only increases the locomotives’ capacity but also significantly improves their speed control and safety features, offering our customer a superior solution for their mining operations.
